How to upgrade NewsSeeker

See here for details on installing NewsSeeker for the first time

The following is a guide to upgrading an existing installation of NewsSeeker for Windows. This 'how to' is produced using screenshots on Windows Vista, however the same basic principles apply to Windows XP.

It is strongly recommended that you first uninstall any previous copies of NewsSeeker that are installed. You can backup your database from your user profile directory. In Windows XP this is usually 'c:\Documents and Settings\Profile Name\Dominion Web\NewsSeeker\newsseeker.s3db' and on Windows Vista 'c:\Users\Profile Name\AppData\Roaming\Dominion Web\NewsSeeker\newsseeker.s3db'

When upgrading from NewsSeeker 2.x to NewsSeeker 3.0 or higher you will need to use the Database Migration tool from the the utilities folder on the start menu to migrate your information from the old database format to NewsSeeker's newer, faster format.

Once you have uninstalled you can follow the installation instructions (however you may have to re-enter your license key once upgraded to the latest version)
